The ONE Programme

The One Programme provides paid opportunities for young people aged 16-23 to give a year of their time, working for a local church or project.  They work 9 hours a week locally, and 6 hours a week nationally, including 4 training weekends and 3Generate children and youth assembly.  Local projects or churches/circuits provide programmes of work that enable a young adult to grow, develop and achieve something real and long-lasting.  Any church / project that applies will need to provide realistic objectives and purpose for an OPP, as well as good support and supervision (see host pack for a full list of criteria).

As usual, churches or projects apply to host a One Programme Participant, and an independent selection panel choose the best 10 applications to receive connexional funding for an OPP, for 2014-2015.  Last year, we also had a number of projects/churches who chose to self-fund.  Details of the costs involved in self-funding are included in the attached pack (you would still need to be approved by the panel).

If successful, a project/church would then go on to work with a learning network staff member in the region, and the Methodist Church Development and Personnel Department, to finalise a Job Description and advertise locally.

Please note that the deadline for applications is 3rd March 2014.

Please get in touch with Nicola Briggs if you would be interested in applying and for support with an application.
