Christmas Angels

The Christmas Angels project has gathered momentum across the UK and this Christmas it has been reported that 41,000 angels were given out!

Meon Valley in our own District grabbed hold of the challenge, with over 700 angels being given out; 300 to St John’s school and the rest via people in our chapels. The angels blessed people as they brought the Good News of Jesus to them.  Locally Facebook records 1,548 people were reached and 535 people responded on Facebook by liking, sharing or commenting. Some of the comments included:

“What a lovely idea. Opened my front door at 7am to walk the dog to find an angel on my doorstep. Thank you. A reminder of the true message of Christmas and the kindness of people.”

”Yes, we had one delivered today! How wonderful it was to open the door to see her sat there. Thank you so much. We lost our beautiful Nan in March and it felt like a little sign. It made my daughter and I smile, it made our day. We will continue to pass on the love and kindness x”

“Found one on my window sill this morning ! Thank you! Put on my Christmas tree will think of my mum and dad that are no longer with us xx”

“Found in Swan Centre car park by parking meter, was a lovely discovery.  My husband lost his job the week before Christmas and the verse on the back of the card was a reminder to always trust God, in any situation "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want"

“Found a lovely little angel around the village so placed it on my tiny little Star Wars Christmas tree the only tree I have put up this year. x Thank-you x”

Some people contacted us via Facebook to request an angel, and these were delivered or posted.

They are continuing to make angels for future events. Their next event is the Portsmouth Relay for Life, ( where they will have the Elemental Tent from 15th - 16th July 2017. Their theme this year is “Christmas”! Please continue to pass angels on to Ali Moss, Brenda Byrne, Pam Morgan, Liz Sorsky or Julie Jurd. Thank you!
