Contemplative Days







The Supper at Emmaus by Ceri Richards (Methodist Art Collection)

Each day stands alone and will include:

  • Simple beginning and ending worship.
  • A way into meditation (to recover a sense of centred-ness). 
  • An exploration of one or more images of Christ in modern art and relevant Scriptures in the morning (appropriate to the church year season) – as a springboard to reflection or creativity. 
  • Lunch. 
  • An afternoon with suggestions for silent personal reflection, creativity or walking. 
  • An opportunity at the end of the day to share a little with others.


TIMING:    9.30 for 10am start till 4pm.

VENUE:      Batts Row Cottage, Laverstoke Lane, Near Whitchurch, Hants RG28 7PA

COST:        £12 to include refreshments, light lunch & materials. (£6 if you bring your own lunch)

Jenny has worked in the Evangelism, Spirituality and Discipleship team of the Methodist Church. She has MA’s in ‘Christian Spirituality’ from Lampeter University; and ‘Christianity and the Arts’ from Kings College. She is part of Richard Rohr’s ‘Living School’.(Founder of the School for Action and Contemplation in New Mexico.) She is a Methodist Minister, married to David and mother of four. Jenny is passionate about being ‘a contemplative in action.’
