Events around the UK

The first Firm Roots National Conference has been organised for October In Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. The conference aims to spread the word about Firm Roots and to encourage churches nationally to think about starting a Christian cancer support ministry.

Firm Roots Cancer Support started in 2012 as an organisation which offers prayer, spiritual, practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer and their families. The organisation has grown over the last few years with more Firm Roots Cancer Prayer Support Groups starting across the country.

We are now excited to have organised our first national conference to invite churches and people across the UK to come along and hear about the work of Firm Roots, with a view to potentially offering similar support and a Cancer Prayer Support Group in their church or area. The conference will take place on Saturday 13th October 2018, 10am - 4pm, at Kirkheaton Parish Church, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. There will be talks, worship, a workshop by Macmillan Cancer Support on setting up and running support groups for people affected by cancer, and another workshop on prayer by a hospital chaplain, as well a chance to find out more about Firm Roots and ask questions. Come and join us!
